Welcome
I'm Keith Anderson, a technical content strategist. I help organizations create sustainable systems for clear, precise, and purpose-driven content. Ask me about context as strategy.
This site is all about context, how it works, and years of research. You'll find my notes from my forthcoming book about context. Yes, it's really happening. I'm also collecting previous context-related blog posts from other platforms as well. Please be patient as I get this site where it needs to be.

Calling Keith just a Content Strategist is a huge miss. He has more knowledge and talent than anyone I have seen in my 20 years of working in this business across all areas of design. As a co-worker or a teammate, Keith will make you grow in ways you never knew. There wasn't a day I didn't learn from him or a day he would make me smile. If you work with him next, don't take it for granted. You are the lucky ones.

It isn't often I see someone with Keith's technical talent in his area of expertise also have the big brain capability of zooming out and asking hard, philosophical questions on the work and its impact and most importantly, what can be done to make it better? Keith is a deep-thinker, a professional who does great work. I still hear from clients who request him to work on their projects because they saw the value that Keith brings. Teaching is second nature to Keith. I learned a ton from him and thankful for the opportunity to have worked with him.

I've worked with Keith on a number of projects over the years, including the BigDesign Conference in Dallas. In that time, I've come to really appreciate Keith's interest and dedication to the field of Content Strategy--he constantly surprises me with his depth of knowledge in the field and his efforts to better understand the nuance and complexity. I've been working with him most closely on a large project and our collaboration has been interesting, exciting and fun. I'd love to work with Keith on another project and look forward to that in the future.

Keith is not just a content strategy expert, but also a leader in the field when it comes to context, accessibility, and mentorship. His ability to lead and inspire teams, while also fostering a positive and productive work environment, make him a valuable asset anywhere. He has this unique ability to connect with team members and clients in a tangible and real way, jumping past the jargon into diagnosing what really matters in actionable recommendations, and is known for his excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships. He understands the importance of neurodiversity, empathy and compassion, and uses these qualities to create a culture of mutual respect and understanding. He demonstrated this in his Group Manager role at Avanade, where he was able to level up the company's capabilities in content engineering and content operations in deal shaping and scoping while building a positive and supportive team culture across multiple projects. Keith is an exceptional professional who can not only drive business results but also create positive human impact in the organization. Our loss is your gain.

I worked closely with Keith when he was the content migration lead for our UTA College of Science web modernization project and found him to be an excellent colleague. He is passionate about content and has a wealth of experience in content strategy and user experience. He really knows his stuff. He didn't overlook any details and kept our project on track despite a number of obstacles that were out of his control during the course of the project. Aside from his extensive technical experience, one of the things that impresses me the most about Keith is his empathy and compassion. He truly cares about people. His positive outlook and ability to make a joke to lighten the mood just when our stressed-out team needed it most may not have been part of his job description, but were very welcome assets nonetheless. His thorough knowledge of the new web platform was invaluable to me. His attention to detail, knowledge of content and ability to implement content strategy made our new website a major improvement over the old one.

Keith was one of the first true data architects that I had the opportunity to work with on forward thinking update/re-architecture of knowledge management tool and delivery. He immediately socialized the true forward view of sustainable data architecture that could be delivered on multiple platforms, but took it a step further and championed inclusion of AI to the re-architecture. His skills and understanding of Data, data management, delivery and value is unmatched in any other projects I'm involved in. I would work with Keith on any project, but truly would like to do so with management that understands current and future needs and is willing to 'open' their view to allow building for the future now rather then when it is almost too late. Keith is a valuable asset to any company that is truly investing and planning for their future and not just today.
